Meet Our Team

Sameer Nair-Desai

Sameer is a 2020 graduate from the University of Southern California, where he pursued a BA in Economics, and a BA in International Relations. He is currently a Predoctoral Fellow at the Stanford Institute for Economic Policy Research, conducting research in a range of topics in applied microeconomics for Professor Matthew Gentzkow. Sameer is committed to revolutionizing methods and applications of social science in the fields of development and health economics. He previously served as a Research Assistant with Dean Ashish Jha at Brown University, where he published multiple research and policy works related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Srividya Dasaraju

Srividya (Sri) is a 2020 graduate from the University of Southern California, where she concurrently completed a BA in International Relations and a Masters in Public Diplomacy. She is currently a Foreign Affairs Officer at the U.S. Department of State, conducting research on global human rights and conflict prevention. She is also a Fellow with WCAPS and a NextGen Fellow with Foreign Policy For America. Sri has previously worked for Representative Sharice Davids’ campaign, the Atlantic Council’s Global Energy Center, and Senator Chuck Schumer; and has pursued her passion for political science as a research assistant with the Security and Political Economy (SPEC) Lab, Professor Abby Wood at Gould School of Law, and Professor Devesh Kapur at Johns Hopkins SAIS. At USC, she was a Trojan Debate scholar and was selected as a Boren Scholar  to Indonesia. 

Kavya Nambiar

Kavya is a 2020 graduate from UC Berkeley, where she completed a BA in Public Health, Molecular and Cell Biology, with a minor in Human Rights. She is currently a Medical Student at UCSF and UC Berkeley’s Joint Medical Program. Kavya is an avid Bharanatyam dancer, and has competed nationally for UC Berkeley’s Natya team. She previously served as a Research Assistant with Dean Ashish Jha at Brown University, where she researched health equity and misinformation. Kavya has a pronounced interest in human rights research, and previously conducted research at the Berkeley School of Law’s Human Rights Center and at the School of Social Welfare.

Hailey Robertson

Hailey is a 2021 graduate from the University of Southern California, where she received a BS in Global Health, with a minor in Human Security and Geospatial Intelligence. Hailey was previously a Junior Researcher for Talus Analytics, and is now a Data Research Analyst at Georgetown University’s Center for Global Health Science and Security. Hailey is also an experienced debater and a human rights advocate. She previously served as Co-Chair of the Student Advisory Committee at the USC Institute on Inequalities in Global Health.

Neil Chin

Neil is a 2020 graduate from Northwestern University, where he completed a BA in Economics and International Studies, with a Certificate in Sustainability and Energy Policy, and a 2023 graduate from Columbia University SIPA’s MA in International Affairs, where he concentrated in Energy and the Environment and specialized in Data Analytics. Neil is now a Climate Finance Analyst at the Climate Policy Initiative. Neil is interested in the planning and implementation of decarbonization strategies, and the facilitation of international collaboration on climate action. He is also a former barista and coffee aficionado – plus he’s fluent in Italian.
