I’ve been dreaming of Mexico City since an admirer in college tried to impress me with a story about an drug-fueled drive through the night to go to one party there. I was fascinated with the dedication to get to the scene, if not the participant.

I don’t know about you guys, but all these protests are awfully exciting. The Libyan photos were actually feeling especially romantic, which was pretty alarming until I realized that they were reminding me of some of my favorite photojournalism from the Spanish Civil War.

The first snowfall of the season brought me to the beach. Seriously.

The first time shooting for the New York Observer found me at a dark bar at 11pm on a Monday night after teaching a photo class. Did I mention I biked there in the snow?

One of my favorite perspectives is on a bike. Riding around the city at a reasonable pace you catch glimpses of peoples lives, get some exercise, and the satisfaction of ringing a little bell at people.
