This March, in a collaboration with veteran photojournalist Joe Patronite I shot and edited a short documentary video in Cleveland about HIV and AIDS in the African American community there. The story focuses on three women who have lived with the epidemic for most of its 30–year history.

Vice has been all over the internets lately with their new CNN partnership. But, honestly, checking out this preview puts the partnership in perspective. This documentary looks amazing. I’m all for publishing Good Stories by any means necessary and Vice is definitely keeping it real with this one.

Craigslist helped me find my new camera last week, a used Canon 5D MKII. I’ve been a proponent of used equipment for a while now, because not only does it let you go easy on the budget, but often you get a glimpse of your gear’s past life from its previous owner. My camera, for example, shot a documentary.
