Florida is a strange place. It’s a strange place to be from and a strange place to visit. When I go back to my hometown, It feels like I’m visiting a familiar zoo. I know the sights, but I’m not on the inside. This trip was quick and without a stop at the lion’s den (or as I like to call them, visiting with old friends who haven’t left). Maybe next time.

The first snowfall of the season brought me to the beach. Seriously.

Revelers set themselves adrift on buoyant objects running the gamut from large inflatable castle to overnight twin mattress in an effort to spend spring break appropriately inebriated.

Man that guy was hairy. I was editing an essay to go up in the morning when I got sidetracked by some photos I took on the beach during the summer.

I was in La Jolla enjoying the warm weather when I chatted up some beach-goers. Even though I took 42 photos of the same couple I think my favorite shot is still the very first one. My second favorite is the last of the 42, so it worked out.
