Photoshopping skies

For an architecture project I’ve been working on, I’ve had to learn all sorts of tricks. Most recently, I had to figure out how to swap out drab skies, for the puffy cloud variety. Luckily I came across this little gem at Greyscale Gorilla (which you should be checking constantly if you aren’t already, this man is talented).

Within an hour (there was a steep learning curve) My photo went from:

So there was a bit more touching up to, but hey, look at that sky! Feel free to steal the sky from the photo I used:

I once had a photo intern tell me his boss took photos of the sky anytime it looked nice for later use, which struck me as overkill.  I have been on the look out for pretty clouds now too.
