This is a photo of me being needlessly harassed in Tribeca last weekend. I’m hired by a property management company to take photos of their holdings. This man, however, is a reactive manager  who thought he could restrict me from taking photos of a building from a sidewalk. The lovely thing about photography is that the law is almost always on your side as long as you are on public property.

NYPD recently got re-educated about photography laws, but if you find yourself being harassed by an overzealous individual, This is a handy printable PDF that outlines your rights.

I might possibly have to go back and get more photos of this property, and if that is the case, I am bringing a camera crew to enjoy my rights as much as possible.
